A full hour passed, but there was still no sound coming from the kitchen. I became nervous and began to wonder what he was doing. I walked quietly towards the kitchen and opened the door. There was no one there. I turned my head from side to side, and suddenly a hand came from behind and covered my mouth. I froze in shock.
“Be quiet,” he said in a harsh voice. It was the plumber, he had a strange smile on his face. “Sit on the chair,” he said. I sat down on the chair slowly, terrified. He quickly took out a piece of tape and covered my mouth. My heart started beating rapidly, I didn’t know what to do.
“What do you want?” I tried to shout, but the tape muffled my voice. The plumber must have seen the fear in my eyes, because he said, “Don’t be afraid, I just need money.” He took something out of his pocket and asked, “Where do you keep it?”
I pointed to the cupboard in the kitchen with my eyes. He opened the cupboard and found a few hundred liras inside. After taking the money, he said threateningly, “I won’t leave you here, if you call the police, I will find you.” My eyes filled with tears but I was helpless.
He tied my hands and left the house. My heart was beating like it was going to jump out of my chest. After waiting a few minutes, I managed to untie my hands with struggle. I immediately removed the tape and picked up the phone and called my husband. My hands were shaking as I explained the situation.
My husband came home immediately and called the police. The police examined the house and searched the area. Fortunately, thanks to security cameras, the plumber was caught in a short time. It turned out that he had committed similar crimes in the past.
This incident deeply affected me. I couldn’t come to my senses for a long time, but eventually, I managed to move on with my life. Now, when there are repairs at home, we are much more careful before calling people we don’t know. Life can sometimes be unexpectedly dangerous, but the important thing is to be able to cope with these difficulties and be safe with our loved ones.
